Ignatius Reilly formed in Denver, Colorado in 2013 after years of musical friendship between the various members, forged in the Southeastern United states and Colorado. Formed by veterans of the local Colorado music scene, the band members have previously combined individual experiences of sharing the stage with Widespread Panic, Leftover Salmon, Mike Gordon, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Drivin n' Cryin, Umphrey's McGee, Bloodkin, The Aquarium Rescue Unit, and Jojo Hermann's Mardi Gras Band. The roots of the band started with Savannah, Georgia's, Brock Elam, (guitar, vocals) starting to jam on Sunday afternoons in Denver with Tennessee native, Jeff "Birddogg" Lane, (drums, percussion) on a five gallon bucket. Old friend and Bay Area transplant, Ethan Ice, joined shortly thereafter on keyboards and keyboard bass. Hailing from Kentucky, local music staple, Eric Bullock, entered the fray on lead guitar, and finally native Pensylvanian and music veteran Mark Brut, joined on bass guitar. Ignatius Reilly combines alt country with southern rock, sounds of New Orleans, and classic rock and roll. Each member brings a diverse background with their own songs and voices to the music. Mixing a large original catalog with a diverse array of covers, the band blends acoustic numbers with raucous electric boogie. Ignatius Reilly has quickly become a thriving part of the Colorado music scene.
